As an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), one of Mae’s favorite things to do is to preach the truth of God’s heart for both righteousness and justice. Mae has preached regularly at her home congregations in the United States and abroad.
Some of her favorite moments in the pulpit have been preaching about God’s heart for the poor in rural Upper Egypt and other parts of the Middle East. Since 2004, Mae has also preached in prisons and jails around the country including Cook County jail in Chicago, San Quentin in the Bay Area, Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (LCIW) and Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola.
